Extension and Modernisation of Ensilaging Facilities

The main objective of this project is the extension and modernisation of a ensilaging plant, in Orțișoara, Timiș county, by building a conditioning and processing grain facility (a grain retention basin and metal canopy / equipment tower / cleaner / dryer), infrastructure works and installation associated equipment, to achieve a storage capacity of about 54,000 tons of grain.
The main works required by the design theme were: a large metal canopy for receiving and temporary storage of grain with a free span of 18 m, designed upon a structure made up of precast concrete pillars and metal trusses; a cereal reception pit and underground connecting channels; settin up a complete system for cleaning and drying grain (including a 4 storey equipment tower and underground drainage connection), technical annex buildings (vehicle scales, laboratory, gate house, aboveground tanks for water supply); roadwworks, platforms and a complete technical infrastructure: cold water and sewage facilities, fire equipment, electrical grid infrastructure works.
The challenges in the design of theme that certainly need to be mentioned are the fact that the assembly includes one of the largest cereal dryers in the country and the metallic canopy with a 18m span and a 80m length.
