Mihai SILVESTRU is the founder and managerial partner of Arhigest.
He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Timișoara with a Master in Restoration of Historic Buildings. He has improved his knowledge by following for one year the courses of the University of Naples in the civil engineering department and at the same time has gained professional experience by participating, in an Italian architectural bureau, in public building projects for residential and residential buildings.
He is a member of the Architects’ Order of Romania (OAR) since 2006 and since 2014 holds a European certification for design of passive houses (Darmstadt, Passive Haus Institut).
He has held an assistant position at the Faculty of Architecture – the Department of Architecture Theory and, since he has been a Chief Architect for a period of time, he has gained experience in the administrative procedure for building authorization, as well as in the applicable legislation.
His experience starts with projects for residential buildings, designing public spaces, restoring historical sites, continuing with the coordination of complex industrial projects and cost management. His portfolio in consequence includes over 350,000 square meters designed, over 250 customers and more than 300 completed projects. Numerous prizes and participations in national and international exhibitions and competitions, as well as support or assistance in courses and conferences in Timisoara, Bucharest, Grafenau, Venice, Florence, etc. are added to this.
The architecture of Mihai Silvestru is a continuous evolutionary and experimental process, design being closely related to research and interest in various fields – from ecological architecture and alternative techniques of building to psycho-anthropic relations between users and the built environment.
